DATES: TUESDAY OCT. 27TH
For children ages 4-6
A N D WEDNESDAY OCT. 28TH
For children ages 7- and up

TIME:4:00pm – 5:00pm

COST: $2.00 (to cover craft supplies – applies to both groups)

Children may come in costume (not mandatory) and will work with Peer Mentors and Craft coordinator, JoAnn Magers to create crafts and play games with a Halloween theme!

This combines Peer Mentor training with a social opportunity for the children – a win-win situation!

We are accepting 5-6 children maximum  for the younger group and 8-10 children maximum for the older group.

Mentors of Children with Special Needs Training Program

Above photo, Kayla Giordanella (center) learns what it is like to have sensory dysfunction as she took part in a 2 hour Peer mentor training sponsored by Autism Family Tours with Brianna, Inc, and Pathways for Exceptional Children at Sports Place in Fanwood September 8. Due to the enormous demand, another training session is to be held Saturday, October 24 at the Scotch Plains Library.

On September 8 at Sports Place in Fanwood, 28 caring students came to take part in a 2 hour training session sponsored by Autism Family Tours with Brianna, Inc and Pathways for Exceptional Children.

Due to the enormous demand, another training session has been scheduled for Saturday, October 24 at The Scotch Plains Library, 1927 Bartle Avenue, Scotch Plains NJ 07076 from 10am – 12noon.

By taking this 2 hour training, participants will learn about the various diagnoses affecting children with special needs, Better understand what it is like to have a disability, and be shown how to become a successful mentor.

Once the training program is complete, one may volunteer for programs offered through Autism Family Tours with Brianna, Inc.
